Egg Dying with Food Coloring

Wash eggs with mild detergent to wash away wax coating. Boil eggs for 20 min then immediately rinse in cold water. Let eggs dry. Mix 1 cup hot water, 2 tablespoons white vinegar and several drops of your favorite color food dye. Neon food color dye makes great colors. :)

Exploring Eggs

It is E week @ LSU
Today we are learning all about Eggs.
We predicted if an egg sinks or floats.
4 out of 9 of our friends said an egg would float.
So we tested out our predictions and discovered that an egg actually sinks.

Then, we used our senses as we were asked what an egg:
Feels like?
Looks like?
Smells like?

Then we cracked our egg...

Peeled our egg...

Opened our egg...

 Touched our egg...

Check out our Egg Prediction Chart and Egg Sensory Chart...

We had such a great time and learned so much today!!

Textured Egg Roll Painting

It is E week @ LSU
We are decorating our Letter E
with paint and an egg.
The egg will leave different textures on your E
as you roll it back-and-forth or sided-to-side.

As we roll we sing
"Roll, roll, roll your egg
over the Letter E.
Roll, roll, roll your egg
over the Letter E."
(tune: Row, Row, Row Your Boat)

Once dried, rub your hand over your E
to feel all the different textures your egg rolling created.

Egg Walk

It's E week @ LSU
Walking with eggs balancing on a spoon.
And we sing...
Balance your egg.
Balance your egg.
Walk this way and balance your egg!
(tune: Farmer in the Dell)
