Our Kissing Hand Wall 2012

We read The Kissing Hand at our Back to School Meet and Greet as well as throughout our 1st week of school. At our Meet and Greet parents cut out their children's hand print and kiss it with lipstick. During our 1st few days back we make a Chester Puppet in class. Together these 2 projects become our welcome wall. The kids Love to see their parents kisses on our walls along with their art!!

Kissing Hand

This was one of our activities at our Back to School Meet and Greet!  Kids and parents enjoyed this project:

Trace child's hand and give it a great big kiss; bring to school. Trace parent's hand; child gives it a great big kiss; keep at home.

This is a must for a first day activity; connecting the parent and child! :)

The Kissing Hand Chester Puppet

We begin every school year with the story The Kissing Hand. This year our Preschool Scholars made a Chester the Raccoon Puppet. Starting school can be scary so we talked about our feelings and Chester's feelings as we created our own version of Chester the Raccoon.
